Adrienne Wollman was trained in dance at The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, The Boston Conservatory, The Ailey School, and Barnard College.  Adrienne performed in Ailey’s Memoria at both City Center and The Metropolitan Opera House in New York.  In 1982, she discovered Pilates as a scholarship student at The Alvin Ailey School in Manhattan.

Adrienne began teaching Pilates in Newburyport in 2002 when she founded Newburyport Pilates and received her STOTT Pilates level II advanced mat certification from P.J. O’Clair at the Northeast Pilates Certification Centers in 2003.  Adrienne began her business to fill a need for one-on-one and small group Pilates instruction in people’s homes, for those who prefer the privacy and convenience of having the instructor come to them.

Adrienne customizes her clients’ in-home training and takes into account each individual’s posture, injuries, fitness level, age, and learning style to create a fun and challenging workout.   In addition to specializing in pre- and post-natal workouts, she also teaches older students, those with injuries, and those with a variety of fitness needs.  Adrienne has also taught group Pilates classes at Amesbury Artworks, West Street Studio, Holistic Family Practice, and The Fitness Factory.

"Since working with Adrienne I’ve developed an increased awareness of my body’s mechanics that help me with everything I do...from other activities and working out to my daily posture.

Adrienne is a joy to be with and I really enjoy and benefit from her instruction in private/semi-private classes."
